Cirrus announced that its SR Series G7+ aircraft featuring Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland has received approval from both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland is powered by Garmin® and is the world’s first certified autonomous emergency landing system in a single-engine piston aircraft. This achievement signifies continued growth of the SR Series and demonstrates Cirrus’ commitment to innovation, safety and performance in personal aviation in the European market.

“We are pleased to receive EASA and UK CAA approval for the SR Series G7+ with Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland,” said Zean Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer of Cirrus. “For over two decades, the SR Series has been the best-selling high-performance piston aircraft in aviation. Cirrus continues to advance the product line with new innovations and technology that make flying enjoyable and accessible. European owners enjoy premium innovation, safety and quality with the SR Series G7+ featuring Safe Return Emergency Autoland.”

SR Series G7+ Featuring Safe Return Emergency Autoland

The SR Series G7+ product line includes the SR20, SR22 and SR22T models with Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland as standard equipment. In the event of an emergency, anyone in the cabin can activate Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland with the touch of a button. Once engaged, sophisticated sensors and algorithms navigate the aircraft to a nearby suitable airport and autonomously land it.

This advancement in aviation safety provides SR Series G7+ pilots and passengers with an automated emergency landing option in the event of pilot incapacitation or a similar in-flight emergency.

Additional SR Series G7+ Features

The SR Series G7+ also features Automatic Database Updates powered by Cirrus IQ PRO for connected aircraft owners. Automatic Database Updates allow owners to receive avionics database updates via Wi-Fi or LTE, ensuring pilots have the most current and accurate data for navigation. These updates can occur while the aircraft is powered off and the owner is away from the aircraft. When the aircraft is powered up, essential databases are automatically synchronized across compatible avionics.

Runway Occupancy Awareness leverages ADS-B traffic data to predict and alert pilots of potential runway incursions from nearby airborne aircraft or other aircraft on or approaching the runway. Visual and aural alerts are provided on the pilot’s primary flight display and 3D SafeTaxi™ map to maximize situational awareness, a safety feature that is especially useful at busy airports.

Smart Pitot Heat is enabled by systems integration through Perspective Touch+™ avionics to reduce pilot workload and automate the flying experience. The system performs a self-test before every flight and automatically turns on or off in flight depending on outside air temperatures, making it one less system to manage.

European Aviation Investment

With this approval, Cirrus is now poised to further expand its SR Series G7+ with cutting-edge technology presence across the European and UK markets. The SR Series G7+ aircraft is currently delivering in Europe and the United Kingdom.

The SR Series G7+ continues Cirrus’ mission to make personal aviation safer and more accessible while giving pilots the opportunity to travel on their own schedule and in the comfort and convenience of their own aircraft. The company’s commitment to improving aviation standards globally is reflected in this achievement, and the SR Series G7+ aircraft is expected to set a new benchmark for safety in the high-performance single-engine aircraft category.

Duluth, MN & Las Vegas, NV — The Cirrus Vision Jet is the world’s first single-engine personal jet. It redefined the personal and business aviation industry and captivated the market, setting a best-selling record for seven consecutive years. Approaching its 10-year anniversary, the Vision Jet celebrates 700 deliveries and an expanded ownership support ecosystem. Through Cirrus, jet ownership is streamlined for business, Part 135, or personal flight operations.

“We oftentimes hear Vision Jet operators express their genuine revelation and excitement for the opportunities that have presented themselves with jet ownership,” said Zean Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer of Cirrus. “Whether it’s closing a deal in-person, managing or expanding to multiple business locations, or spending more time with family and friends, the Vision Jet has reshaped the way people travel in order to accomplish more.”

The Vision Jet created a new legacy that redefines personal aviation, private travel and jet ownership. Cirrus delivers Vision Jets to charter operators, business owners and entrepreneurs — who discovered the value of jet travel while valuing dedicated ownership support, cost efficiency and regional capability.

Efficient Operation

The Vision Jet is regionally capable and cost-effective. Through Cirrus, all owners are also backed by its global Authorized Network of Service and Flight Training Centers.

On a Vision Jet, it takes approximately 3 hours to fly from Denver, CO to Las Vegas, NV, versus an 8-hour drive. The time savings are undeniable, and with a Cirrus, the cost efficiency is as well, due to the modern, fuel-efficient design, lower insurance premiums, and predictable operating costs through programs like JetStream.

Dedicated Service

Cirrus recently announced its commitment to Vision Jet recurrent flight training by adding a simulator at its Scottsdale (SDL) location. The Vision Jet simulator will accommodate 45 pilots per month and serve the greater West Coast territory. The investment showcases Cirrus’ dedication to flight training and safety.

Vision Jet owners are also supported through a comprehensive ownership structure. Jetstream eliminates the stress of jet management by streamlining coverage for maintenance, training, subscriptions, and normal wear-and-tear into one cost-predictable package.

Increase connectivity with Cirrus IQ PRO™, a premium subscription plan that’s included with Jetstream and available through the Cirrus IQ mobile app, enabling owners to access greater insight into their aircraft. Now they can receive real-time status updates, manage inspections and maintenance, review flight summaries, view approach scores, and export flight data. Cirrus IQ PRO consolidates third-party applications to simplify aircraft management.

Should owners require assistance in remote areas, Cirrus has established a mobile unit service in Arizona, Illinois, Florida, Maryland, Tennessee and Texas.

Stop by Cirrus’ booth during NBAA-BACE at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall #2505 and at the Henderson Airport static display AC22. To learn more about the Vision Jet, visit cirrusaircraft.com/visionjet.

Cirrus®, the recognized global leader in Personal Aviation, today expanded its Cirrus Approach™ Flight Training curriculum with the new Cirrus Instrument Rating Program. The Instrument Rating Program was designed by Cirrus Instructor Pilots for pilots interested in obtaining an Instrument Rating in a Cirrus aircraft. The program combines self-study content with in-person flight training.

“The Cirrus Instrument Rating Program represents our commitment to safety and growing the Personal Aviation industry,” said Zean Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer of Cirrus. “To date, Cirrus Approach has over 25,000 users who have completed 33,000 courses. Cirrus is continuously growing its flight training capabilities as an investment to our owners and their lifetime of aircraft ownership.”

Pilot and Personal Aviation Advancement

The Cirrus Instrument Rating Program now offers owners a clear training progression to maximize Cirrus aircraft use, enabling them to fly more frequently and in a wider range of weather and terrain. The Cirrus Instrument Rating Program emphasizes safe best practices for pilots operating Cirrus aircraft.

Instrument Rating Program Structure

The Cirrus Instrument Rating Program includes three segments – Flight Lessons, Knowledge Test Prep and Supplemental Lessons – all designed to offer the student and instructor maximum flexibility while providing high levels of support along the way. The three segments include:

  • Flight Lessons – Cirrus Flight Lessons serve as the core of the program and can be adapted to match the student’s needs, whether you are graduating from the Private Pilot Program or are a seasoned pilot.
  • Knowledge Test Prep – The Knowledge Test Prep is a new functionality added to the Cirrus Approach Learning Platform designed to help students pass the FAA Written Exam.
  • Supplemental Lessons – The Supplemental Lessons are optional and are intended to be used by students who are starting their Instrument Rating immediately after earning their Private Pilot License. These lessons are structured training events designed to help less experienced students accumulate the necessary flight hours while developing their flight skills.

Enrollment, Duration and Cost

Students can enroll in the Instrument Rating Program through Cirrus Approach and then will need to locate a nearby Cirrus Training Center to schedule their in-person flight lessons. The course can be tailored to the student’s experience level, so the total time needed to complete the program varies from one to four months. The course materials start at $950 and do not include instructor rates, Cirrus aircraft rental fees, or the cost of fuel.

DULUTH, MN & OSHKOSH, WI – Cirrus is introducing a collection of handcrafted, aviation-inspired travel bags utilizing upcycled parachute material repurposed from the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System® (CAPS®). The parachutes used in this bag collection are from the mandatory CAPS repack that occurs every ten years. The bags are handmade by Duluth Pack, the oldest canvas and leather bag maker in the United States, and are available for the first time at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025. Fusing sustainability with durability and timeless design, each bag is constructed using upcycled Cirrus parachute fabric and rugged canvas. Cirrus and Duluth Pack bags are both made in the United States with headquarters in Duluth, Minn.

Cirrus is known for revolutionizing the personal aviation industry with innovations such as the CAPS, an FAA-certified whole airframe parachute system designed to safely lower the aircraft and its occupants to the ground in an emergency.

The Cirrus Parachute-Lined Collection includes:

Each item is hand-built in Duluth, with the inner lining cut individually by hand from Cirrus parachute canopies and then layered with canvas over the upcycled parachute lining. The layers are stitched together to form a single, durable bag.

Cirrus parachutes used in the lining are composed of Kevlar, Nylon and Vectran cordage. The parachute itself spans 2,349 square feet, with a diameter of 54.7 feet and contains cords stretching over a mile long.

To purchase a Cirrus Parachute-Lined bag, visit booth #183-188 on Celebration Way during EAA AirVenture or the Cirrus Store
