HistoricAviation.com, Amelia Earhart's Flight Across America: Rediscovering a Legend Sponsor
Based in St. Paul, Minn., HistoricAviation.com is America’s leading source for merchandise related to the history of aviation including books, videos, art and models. More than 3,000 items are available via the Internet and through the company’s mail-order catalog, which is distributed five times a year.
Background
Historic Aviation first opened for business more than 30 years ago, selling art prints at fly-in events around the United States, including the first EAA air show in Oshkosh, Wis. The company quickly expanded its product line and published its first catalog in 1975. Today, the company also publishes between 10 and 15 book titles each year.
In 1999 Sky Media L.L.C. purchased Historic Aviation. Sky Media is owned by Greg Herrick, a vintage airplane collector and former CEO of computer manufacturer, ZEOS International, Ltd. Under Herrick’s leadership, Historic Aviation developed its present-day e-commerce Web site. Airplanes from Herrick’s private collection frequently grace the cover of the company’s catalogs.
